Production Project
This assignment runs alongside Unit B7: Performing Scripted Plays
The purpose of this assignment is to:
Know how to carry out planning requirements for a performing arts product
Be able to take part in the developmental process for a performing arts product
Understand the purpose of the planning and preparation process in the creation of a performing arts product


Scenario
This unit will be assessed alongside the rehearsal process and performance of your Production Project. You will take on a production role and be responsible for planning and undertaking the tasks necessary to make the production happen successfully.  This project is all about being an effective part of a team. You will be assessed through written tasks and through ongoing teacher observations of your contribution to production meetings and the successful completion of your given production role.
Task 1 Researching Roles Sheet

You will research the various production roles necessary to make a play happen.  You will complete a research sheet to illustrate your findings which will be assessed by your teacher.

Task 2 Personal Production Role Proposal

As a company we will agree a personal production role for each member of the group. Some of the larger roles will be shared by a small team of people. The roles will include jobs such as marketing, props and costume design, liasing with venues, sound design, lighting design, front of house. You will write a proposal detailing the jobs you need to do. You will also complete a timeline detailing when these jobs will be achieved, which will be assessed by your teacher. You will be given further guidelines about how to complete your proposal in lessons

Task 3 Carrying out the personal production role

You will participate in production meetings, communicating with other members of the group about your progress, and the steps that need to be taken next. You will ensure that all the tasks you detail have been completed. Assessment will be via ongoing teacher observation and through the minutes of production meetings that you should include in your log book.

Task 4  Evaluation essay

You will evaluate the work you did in your production role. You will comment on your effectiveness and suggest ways that you might have improved
 
Deadline:  April 2012 - One week after the final performance of your play.  This should be handed in with your log book

Revisiting your development plan.

Everyone must revisit their development plan and add more detail. To gain the final criteria for the unit.

You must be, 'giving detailed explanations of progress towards targets.' To attain the D grade.

The link above is to the blank development plan but you should all have a copy of the one you began filling in during term 1.
